RE: Being a considerate RV owner

margo,
Improvise and adapt, leave ten minutes earlier for your meeting. Many things can hold you up, including an RV on the road.

RE: Dinette in Raptor 3612

Hi all,
We removed our dinette and sofa in our '08 Raptor 3612. Thanks Badhabt for posting a link to the pix.
It's just two of us also, the dinette was simple to remove as was the sofa. The sofa was not bolted down! We bought a free standing table and chairs and replaced the sofa with a futon. I bolted the table down, and left the futon free standing.
Cheers,
Leslie (lesn8r)

RE: Post photos of your toyhauler

Hi all,
Being vinyl is came off easily, I removed a piece off under the tv and it came off with no residue so I finished all the walls. I used an exacto knife to score it where it runs into the moulding. I did have to remove the window treatments to get behind them.

RE: Post photos of your toyhauler

Hi all,
Hockeymom, yes the futon you see folds down and makes an awesome bed. It is not attached to the floor (neither was the original sofa) and does not move in transit. This allows you to move it where you need it, giving access to the loft ladder.
The table is attached to the floor. I used some angle strapping to bolt the table down.
When you remove the sofa and dinette there are no large holes in the carpet. Just remove some screws that hold the table and dinettes down to the floor and toss.
We also removed the vinyl chair rail around the interior of our raptor, I think it opens up the interior a bit.

RE: Overnighting at an RV dealer

our PDI included a couple nights stay at the dealership. It was the best thing we could have done, being newbs. We got all setup and wound up having a couple beers with the techs when they got off work.
the relationship forged that weekend has saved me a ton of money :)

RE: Raptor 3814 Fresh Water Drain

Hi all,
Mine will drain fairly quickly. I opened the lowpoint drains and the tank drain in the rear.
I'm betting you have some ice in the drain tube.

RE: Here's a bad little critter for show & tell

wow!
I'm from New Hampshire, we don't have Javalina's here. I got to see one on vacation in the Tucson area. I thought they were cute little furry pigs. Holy smokes, I did not realize they had tusks!!
I suspect if one of those little darlings was coming at me, I'd be up a tree fast!
Do folks eat these little pigs?

RE: CB radio

I have a cobra roadtrip hand held. it's range is pretty limited with the supplied antennas. I bought a wilson magnetic mount and the range is much better, still only 2-4 miles unobstructed.

RE: Tie Downs on Raptor walls.

Hi all,
That picture I believe is from Paul Turner's rig, check out this link:
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/20941343.cfm
I have an '08 Raptor and looked at some of Paul's pictures and have a similar setup with d-rings on the wall. I used a combination of stud finder and common sense. I followed the wall mounts of the metal shelf/table and found where the studs are. I also followed the mount points of the corner shelves and found where the studs were.
Cheers,
Leslie

RE: The car that will do the hybrid in !

love my '03 diesel jetta. 43-45 mpg around town, close to 50 highway. Small diesels are all over europe, I don't understand why they are not more prevalent here. hybrids are great up until the first battery replacement $$$

I'm going with Rachel Ray. I wind up making her recipes far more often than any of the others. Reasonable quick and easy to make down home good food.

RE: Stuff that is hard to find in stores

Fels Naptha is the best. Still sold here in New Hampshire. I use it for every stain imaginable. I just wet the area and rub some soap on it and wash. Colors are no problem.
